PA State Inspections & Emissions
Pennsylvania State Inspection was started in 2000, and was available at the Ephrata, Lancaster, and Reading locations. It was added to make it convenient for customers to have their car inspected as part of a routine visit to the lube shop. Cloister checked items like lights, wipers, and brakes and applied the inspection and emissions sticker if no work was required. It was a pass or fail process. If work was needed, Cloister could recommend local service stations and the customer would return to Cloister after the work was done to have the stickers applied. No appointment was necessary, and the service was available 7 days a week during normal lube shop hours.
